Clairsentience & Discernment: Learning to Trust Your Inner Knowing

Updated: Apr 8

Have you ever just known something without being able to explain why? Have you ever walked into a room and immediately felt a shift in energy—whether it was warmth, tension, or an unspoken presence? If so, you might already be working with clairsentience, also known as the feeling clair.

What is Clairsentience?

Clairsentience is the intuitive ability to feel energy, emotions, and even information beyond the physical senses. It can manifest in different ways, including:

✔️ Feeling other people’s emotions as if they were your own.

✔️ Sensing energy shifts in a space or around certain objects.

✔️ Physical sensations in the body that hold messages (e.g., tingles, tightness, warmth).

✔️ Gut feelings that guide decisions without logical explanation.

Unlike clairvoyance (seeing) or clairaudience (hearing), clairsentience isn’t always as obvious because it operates through subtle body awareness. That’s why learning discernment is so important when working with this ability.

The Challenge of Discernment: Intuition vs. Fear

One of the biggest struggles with clairsentience is learning to distinguish intuition from anxiety, projections, or personal emotions.

🔹 Intuition feels neutral, clear, and direct. It’s like receiving a soft but firm knowing—even if it doesn’t always make sense in the moment.

🔹 Fear, overthinking, and ego feel chaotic, urgent, and filled with self-doubt. If it’s frantic, it’s likely not true intuition.

How to Strengthen Your Discernment

Check the Emotion: If what you’re feeling comes with fear, doubt, or a strong emotional reaction, pause. True intuition isn’t emotionally charged—it’s calm and steady.

Body Awareness Practice: Before making a decision based on a feeling, take a deep breath and check in with your body. Does it feel expansive (truth) or constrictive (not aligned)?

Track Your Hits: Keep a journal of intuitive feelings vs. outcomes. Over time, you’ll see patterns that help you recognize when your clairsentience is accurate.

Energetic Hygiene: If you absorb emotions easily, clear your energy regularly with grounding exercises, shielding, or Reiki.

Navigating the Spiritual with Clairsentience

Clairsentience is a powerful tool for spiritual exploration, but it requires self-trust and practice. Recently, I had my own lesson in discernment—learning to tell the difference between a true guide and a deceptive influence. My body knewbefore my mind did, but I had to learn to listen.

The truth is, your body is always speaking to you. The more you tune in, the more accurate your discernment becomes. Whether you’re sensing people, energies, or spiritual guidance, trust that your feeling clair is a gift—not a burden.

And most importantly, trust yourself. 🥳
